Let's see...  "Art? That is gewooneen sex gnome!"     what?  ::)

I assume that the statue is holding something, uh, "sexy" in it's right hand, and that it is a new statue and the paper is asking if this is art, or porn, or something like that? Ah, if I only knew what "gewooneen " meant! Oh and this is funny because bouter or kabouter is your nickname. That is the best I can do; this is very cryptic! Hey Happy Birthday! :D :D :D

Don't grow up too fast; adulthood's not all it's cracked up to be.....    :P

I think the story was that the 'christmas tree'-thingy looks like some object called a 'butt-plug', which has some kind of sexual application.

Gewoon, in this case, means: 'just'.

Wasn't this statue made by a famous dutch person? I don't remember.

You're totally right! I bet you're Dutch :P Tough luck I don't know who made this weird statue.. You can find it in Rotterdam anyway. Has any of you ever seen it?

I'm not Dutch, but to me it looks like you had the statue in mind when you had that pic of yourself taken with the poster.

So was there any implied meaning to your picture?  ::)  :o  ;)
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I think the story was that a lot of community money was spend to hire the artist. And it was also supposed to look like a butt plug as a kind of joke or something. There was some commotion and discussion about it; Is it art? Was it worth the money? Is this the responsebility of local politicians? Etc.

I think it is now on display on a busy square somewhere in the center of Rotterdam.

But, this doesn't really interest me and I live on the other side of the country.
