Do you think it's a good idea to learn this whole set for a concert programme?

Of course, it's always good to know the whole cycle, but I would suggested you that you turn that cycle in the first programe of the concert, if you are having a concert with romantic pieces, and to put something maybe more virtuoso at the and.

But I think that you could also play at the second half, if you play in the first half something like Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, early Beethoven or Schubert...

But decision is yours...

Good luck in learning that not-so-easy thing!! ;)

They are beautiful pieces.
I have a CD with Pletnev playing all of them.

Yes, that's the recording that inspired me to learn them

wow!  just listened to them, plus the nutcracker suite.  pletnev is an amazing transcriber.  apparrently his conducting skills are pretty good too, as 'sleeping beauty' was suggested (i believe) by a listener on amazon.

I would say no.  To play 2 or 3 from the set at a time is enough, I find.  It's cheezy.  Cheezy is good when it's not too long.  ;D
