Romantic piece suggestions
on: September 14, 2003, 07:25:46 PM
Hey, everyone. First, let me say that I'm a newb here, but I like what I've perused over so far :).

I love music that flows from beauty to excitement. My favorite pieces to play that are like what I'm looking for include Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# Minor, Prelude in G minor, and Prelude in B minor, and also Chopin's Prelude in Db Major.

I was wondering if you guys could suggest more pieces that are in this style and that are somewhat difficult and flasy, as well as beautiful and exciting.

Thanks.

What about trying Chopin's Ballade in A flat major op 47. Technically it is the most approachable of Chopin's four Ballades and it is a romantic journey from the gentle movement of lilting tenderness to exciting music of heroic and noble passion.  What a piece!
Regards,
Robert.

Thanks for the suggestion -- I'm listening to it right now. I've definitely enjoyed listening to all the Ballades on Kissin's album. I've been dabbling with Ballade in G Minor, Op. 23. However, I'm worried about some of the middle sections :P.

Now that the song is halfway through, I agree, very nice piece. I'll get a copy and see about it :)

Thanks again!
