backpacking
on: November 30, 2005, 09:41:15 AM
woohoo i'm off to nz next week!! except i'm having a dilemma with whether to take the good old backpack or a lovely suitcase. i personally am more of a suitcase girl, the whole rectangular shape and just being able to rummage through it suits me fine. except i'm thinking maybe a backpack is more convenient in terms of lugging it from wherever the bus drops us off to the hostel?
so just wondering, if anyone has any experience in this area, if taking a suitcase would be a really dumb idea?

does your suitcase have reliable wheels?  if so, i'd take the suitcase.  if not, i'd take the backpack.  you don't know how far you're walking, right!  you sound like a real go-getter.  i hope that all goes well - and that you're taking a few friends along.  you australians are fearless.

yes my suitcase does have reliable wheels thank god- if it didn't have wheels there's no way in hell i'd take it!! i can't imagine we'd be walking too far, and i've done a fair bit of suitcase lugging in my life...
oh yes we are fearless we can do absolutely anything!!
