Excellent performance. Some overly harsh tone in the melody and at the cadential climaxes, but most of it is very beautiful, truly dreamy and introspective, with some extraordinary subtle coloartions in the p-pp range.

But I still can't stand looking at him!   So, I look away.

Yeah, he is annoying to watch, but it was good.

I love it when a great pianist includes something like that in concert - a great piece of music that isn't very difficult and usually associated with students, like Traumerei or Fur Elise.  It's nice to hear that sort of stuff played by a real virtuoso.

What's annoying about LL? His way over-done, artificial mannerisms. It's not like he's Glenn Gould, who quite possibly has Asperger's Syndrome to justify his bizzare performance antics. Lang Lang isn't enough of a legend yet to justify the dreamy stares at nothingness and flourishes of his free hand and anything else resembling an LSD trip.

I couldn't agree more. I thoroughly enjoyed his interpretation, especially bringing out the left hand in the repeat of the first section. It gave it a fresh sound the second time around. 8)

Horowitz also played this piece for his encores at times.  I am always delighted when I hear a piece that I play performed by a master, as it gives me more to work on in a piece I already "know". :P

Cheers

Lang Lang was recently diagnosed with AS and gigantophallus syndrome too, think before you post.
