Earl Wild's arrangement of Gershwin's Summertime
on: December 05, 2005, 08:04:26 PM
Hello all :)

Would anyone happen to have a copy of Gershwin's Summertime arranged by Earl Wild (in his "Fantasy on Porgy and Bess")?  Many thanks in advance! Pec

I have e mailed it to you.

thalbergmad, you seem to have alot of music at your disposal. I too am in the process of gathering sheetmusic.

I am currently working on scanning in the first volume of "The World's Best Music" by 'The University Society',  New York, 1921. It's one of a ten volume hard cover edition that was given to me recently.

This set is described as "Also including a considerable number of pianoforte compositions reprinted from the original plates and in the identical editions used in the CENTURY LIBRARY OF MUSIC, Edited by Ignace J. Pederewski."

I hope to be able to make available any piece that is not available here in the Forum.

If you need any piece that I may have, please feel free to e-mail me and if I have it, I'll send it to you. That goes for other Forum members as well.

Cheers

I think Thalbergmad has downloaded the huge sheet music collection of eMule. Just a guess :P .

A small amount of it yes. ;D About 4gb of piano sheet music on the mule, but a lot is well known composers.

Most of my collection came from a private purchase, which provided me with  150,000 sheets, a lot of which was rare stuff.

A great deal i got at gamingforce (where i am meyrickfan) and i used to do a lot of trading at pianofiles. I stopped that when i was getting 20 e mails per day  :'(.

In addition, i regularly hunt for new sites and download everything before they disappear.

I have done a reasonable amount of file swapping on DC++.

Occasionally, i do some scanning myself, such as the 80 page massenet piano concerto and the sheets i bought from the Thalberg Society.

So after 3 years of hunting i have abou 22,000 seperate pieces by 1600 different composers.

I love this place and the people so anyone here is welcome to anything i have.

However, I am going to become a gold member so I don't post anything that is already available here. The last thing i want to do is upset the owners

Big hugs

Thal

Thalbergmad, so how do you know where to find something in your collection?  Do you have a database you setup?
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I press the search key on my documents. A cute little doggie appears on the screen and pretends to dig for a bone. Rather cute.
