Has anyone tried Liszt's transcription of the 9th? How is it?

I've got the book but haven't started it yet. it seems quite difficult, and its long obviously. I believe one pianist who came here played it as an entire programme.
You either do or do not. There is no try- Yoda

Life is like a piano, what you get out of it depends on how you play it

Hi pies (lol), I have looked at the 3rd and 6th symphonies, the transcriptions are excellent and should be noticed more.  Apparently, the 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th transcriptions are the most effective, according to Liszt himself. The 9th isn't my favourite and I think it is a little too chordal, however i am trying to get through all the symphonies, just for fun  :)

The 6th symphony is ill.  The 4th movement especially.

I agree, the 9th symphony transcription is a bit lacking, although I still enjoy listening to the 2nd movement quite a bit.

The third movement's transcription is beautiful.  I think it can be programmed alone.
Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)
