i used to love uchida. not so much any more now. true, she is a serious musician; deep-into-her-soul-all-the-time. her dynamic contrast and tone control are always splendid. BUT, did i hear any color or variety of touch in her playing? hardly. i think many magical moments have been lost because of this reason. ( a strong opinion )
oh, also, whenever i listen to uchida's mozart, specially the fast movements, it does now more and more sound like ping pong. ( an even stronger one )
