I just wanted to know how many of you at this forum know the argentinian musician Carlos Guastavino, and which of his pieces do you know.
He composed really nice piano works.  ::)

I have heard a piece by him. Something he composed when he was like 11 years old, so I couldn't judge him by that. But it was very nice.

I recently bought a wonderful CD "Piano Music of Argentina" mainly for the Ginastera "Suite de Danzas Criollas" which I am currently learning. On it are two pieces by Guastivino, "Sonatina in G minor" and "Gato". They are both terrific. (Maybe, I'll learn one, if I ever get the Ginastera finished. :)) BTW, has anyone heard of the pianist, Niklas Sivelov? His playing on this CD is great!

Look for his Sonatinas, Romances Nuevos and others.  They are refreshing.

I am argentinian too  ;D, that's why I was asking about him. And because he composed wonderfull pieces.
His Sonatina in G minor is magnific.

His works are listed here https://members.tripod.com/~ostinato/guaspian.html

It's difficult to get the sheet music. I have the Bailecito, the Sonatina in G minor, Ten preludes, Diez Cantilenas Argentinas, Mis amigos and a Piano and flute duet that is not listed there. I would like to get the Sonata in C# minor, just in case some of you have it.
