Caster Cups

Do caster cups effect the transmisson of sound to the floor?

The piano technicians amongst us can probably answer more directly, but I'd be surprised if a detectable difference occurs. A lot of the sound that comes from the soundboard does come ou the bottom of the piano, but Id be surprised if much of it eminated from the legs and casters.

Caster cups are for carpet protection only. It has nothing to do with sound quality coming out of a grand piano or upright piano itself.

Caster cups are for all floor protect! And not just for carpets.
