no way, are you serious at all?
does that have something to do with the partial banning of hijabs and other religious paraphenalia i may not be aware of, a backlash of sort?

merry christmas and happy chanukah, which ever one applies, i guess a lot more the first :D

Exactly, my comment was aimed at President Blair and his piss pathetic politically correct ponces, who think they can suck up to the Muslim community by interfering in Chrismas celebrations.

Anyway, happy multifaith winter break to everyone.

That's really funny. As far as I've understood, Muslims appreciate a strong religious backbone and despise the West because people are so weak in their Christianity.

In my country, Holland, muslims are celebrating the secular version of christmas. They buy a tree, invite friends and family, etc.

It seems christmas is becomming more secular each year.

Yes, muslims like christianity. First off, they prefer monotheism over atheist. Second, they also worship the God of Abraham/Ibrahim. Third, for them Christ is also a main prophet. He just isn't 'part of god' and he didn't die at the cross.

I don't see the need for muslim bashing. Lets rather bash monotheism in generally, shall we?

It's supposed to be: MERRY FESTIVE SEASON (to be 'pc') Lol... ow can 'Christmas' offend anyone? they don't have to celebrate it... it's a christian festival so let christians celebrate... it's like saying that they aren't allowed to call it 'ede' because i don't like the word... ridiculous...

You see the same sort of thing on greeting cards in the US. They say "Happy Holidays" but have a big Christmas Tree on the front. Although I celebrate Hanukkah (that's how I spell it:)), I'm not at all offended when people wish me a merry Christmas. The only thing that irritates me about Christmas is the fact that my local classical radio station plays Christmas hymns for the entire month of December. To be quite honest, a month of Hanukkah songs would drive me up the wall, too.  :P

Happy holidays!

Merry, or happy (in case you think that merry
always proceeds Christmas) whatever event in your
faith or belief or ethnographic or social or personal
system that you may be celebrating at this
particular time of the year relating to your personal
mythology, although please do not take the use
of mythology as demeaning in categorizing
whatever may be the system in which you believe,
or tend to believe, or are curious about. We wish
you peace and happiness, unless that peace and
happiness involves blowing up other people
because your interpretation of your belief system
convinces you, or has led others to convince you,
that such action will take you to whatever paradise
is posited in that belief or mythos system. Please
do not regard that statement as a condemnation of
your beliefs or reason to target us as the means for
your violent access to the aforementioned heaven.
We do wish you (fill in the blank of the proper
deitys name) speed to non-corporeal eternity, but
unaccompanied by those who may not be so
gleeful of such sudden entry.

Oh, and happy New Year, too!

Funny, I find this idea of PC more insulting that the actual idea it attempts to remove the insult from.

Christmas before Christianity?

It seems clear that Christ had mass for years before he became the inanity.

No one knows when Christ was born. Not the day or season and not even the actual year.

The romans turned their Saturn party into christmas, and then the pagans turned their winter solstice parties into christmas.

As Asimov puts it: "Converts could join Christianity without giving up their Saturnalian happiness. It was only necessary for them to joyfully greet the birth of the Son rather than the Sun."

Today christmas is a secular party celebration the consumptionismic variation of capitalism.
