Why we donīt know any work by Ries
on: December 27, 2005, 12:28:40 PM
Hello:

I am looking for scores of Ferdinand Ries. piano solo and chamber music.

Anybody can help me, please?

For example, I know, he composed Chelo sonatas with piano, op.21, op.125, op. 20. And clarinet sonate with piano,op.29. More information will be appreciated:

Thanks in advance.
Universo.

Hi universo!

I've consulted my piano music book by Hollfelder on Ries. He has written:

18 piano sonatas (including some for 4 hands or 2 pianos)
15 fantasies
60 variations
39 rondos
33 marches
22 waltzes
6 exercizes
40 preludes
60 polonaises
and some other small pieces.

He's written 8 piano concertos, too.

I hope this helps a little...
