Get to know you/introduction ideas for a group ?
on: December 27, 2005, 07:20:30 PM
Do you have any ? I can think of a few but thought I would ask the masses as well. I will be finally holding my studio class and would like to start our first class off with a fun way to introduce each other. I personally have a difficult time doing the following two myself, when I am in a situation that I am part of a group that needs introducing :
1. Say your name and something about yourself.
2. Walk around the room and talk with such and such number of people for such and such amount of time.
I would rather do something different (more creative :-) with my kids (and adults when I start that class). So, any ideas to add ?
Thanks,

hmmm I have done many of these introduction things when I was studying education, but can't remember many of them
one thing you could do is to seperate them into pairs, give them two minutes to find out 1 thing from each category you set them, i.e 1) something about music and piano, 2) something about family and pets, 3) something about their other hobbies and interests etc...Along with their names and age.
then bring them back to the whole group and introduce each other instead of themselves. This is a more relaxed approach and tests memory and creativity as well
hehe, I will recall more of these if i can later
