I downloaded this from the internet, and Im on the second page. I been ignoring the symbols that I dont understand, but I finally got annoyed and decided to ask.

Main Point:

What is that little flower symbol after the Ped symbol? I assume it probably means lift your foot off from the pedal but I could be wrong.

Also, what is that little X thingie on top of the F#'s? I ignored them an played them as F#'s,   and it sounds ok.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Flower thingy = old symbol for when you lift your foot off the pedal. You are correct.

If I'm right and the x's are placed on the left as so:  X F  (F = note on the staff) then they are double sharps. Play the note F# as though it were G- sharp it twice.

Double sharps annoy the heck out of me  >:(
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

Although if you have to ask about these symbols, there isn't much chance of you being ready for this piece technically.

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
