Post sheet music for insanely hard pieces
on: December 29, 2005, 07:06:44 AM
Post any sheet music you have (try to make it complete pieces) for pieces that are insanely difficult and scary-looking on paper. I'm curious to see if any of the infamously hard pieces in the repertoire other than Islamey, Gaspard and Alkan are available anywhere.

Meanwhile, here's Alkan's Grande Sonate (check out the first page of Part 2) and Scherzo Focoso, op. 34.

https://alkan.assos.free.fr/alkan/04_partitions_en.html is the site where I get all my Alkan stuff, other than the Symphony and Concerto which I have in a Dover book.

its generally the pieces with the most subtledy or both this and complicated techniques. i generally believe that technique can be overcome, but there are some pieces that seem easy (and it generally is easy to get a hold of the ntoes) but is actually extremely difficult to get the music and emotions right.

I was quite surprised that my teacher recommended me learn Chopin Ballade no.1 (which im learning now) before no.3 because i thought No.1 was harder, but it only sounded harder in terms of technique.

How long before someone posts da OC?
Chuck Norris didn't lose his virginity- he systematically tracked it down and destroyed it.

However, this topic is about "pieces that are insanely difficult and scary-looking on paper." We're not taking into account musicality or emotions.

A. It's 18MB big.
B. It isn't really smart to upload something copyrighted while the owner of the right is an active member of this forum ^^ .
