Remembering what really matters
on: December 29, 2005, 08:10:06 AM
Do you ever have these times where you "suddenly" realize what really matters to you, and that for some reason, you have been lying to yourself and making decisions that did not truly align with what really matters ?  It's getting caught in a land of living out what just doesn't matter.

Why does a person do this, lie to oneself ?  Maybe it is laziness, fear, or something else.

It's funny, as soon as one realizes clearly again what really matters, nothing else does, except for getting back on track.  All of the cares and worries regarding issues that don't really matter seem to just melt away; they no longer have any weight to them.  Those things just no longer matter.

ps-  I enjoy remembering what matters, it feels like coming home.

Some of my favorite things are things that don't "matter" in a practical sense.  Like playing the piano or keeping my cats.

Most of the books I read are also not "practical," in that they will not advance my pecuniary situation at all.

I do enjoy people.  You are such a fun person on the forum, m1469.  You do seem to come up with some most refreshing and unique postings.

I just heard your duet with your dog.  Dogs are something else that are important.  Cats are mainly important TO THEMSELVES, but nevertheless I do love them.

Hope you get more replies to your post--

Why do you like cats? Is it because they're cuddely?

If you remember it, write it down so you don't forget.  Then post that in a place where you will see it all the time.  Then spend some time "digesting" the idea again in the future to keep it in mind (the point of the holidays right?).

Yes, okay Bob.  :)
