there's a few sites to calm your latest fears (such as the monstrous mutant housecat that is half the size of it's owner - or the shrivelled body of a mermaid found off the coast of the philippines):

these sites are "devoted to collecting every internet hoax or urban legend they can find and getting to the bottom of them."

perhaps my new years resolution is to not be 'taken in'  so easily. 

my nephew has a cute book, too, entitled the 'unlogic book' or something.  it has stories that aren't true, but you have to figure out who's lying.

the truth of the matter is it really costs .99 cents per download - but you can listen for free.
