Chopin Cds - how many?

Only ORIGINAL Cds count (not MP3, not stuff downloaded from Internet).
CDs containing works from different composers do not count, even if they have several Chopin's.

Also, let us count double Cds as 2 (so, for instance, a complete version of the Nocturnes adds 2).

What are the works you have more versions?

I have 18 CDs, if i remember correctly

Without getting up and looking, 13 or 14. Soon it will be 15, I ordered the William Kapell Edition Box Set the other day. That contains the Sonata #3/Mazurkas CD.

If vinyl is included (I have about 300 LP's) it goes up to about 30.

I'm sorry, I voted for more than 31 cd, before I saw that We are talking about original cds..
I have only 14 cds of Chopin solo piano music-I have complete solo piano music with Askhenazy and Kissin Chopin recital with Sonata no.3 op.58 and 12 Mazurkas.
I also have 1st Concerto wtih Nikita Magaloff recorded live in Zagreb (on that cd is also Richter playing Schumann Concerto op.54)

I'm in the 11-15 box, though that's more because of limited finances than anything else. There are about a million more I'd love to own, but I have to keep back money for going to the pub. Priorities...

I don't see it as shameful, I see it as prioritizing as well. Instead of buying chopin CD's which I won't listen to very much, I buy things I will. Like for Christmas I bought Beethoven's complete piano sonatas, bach's WTC both books, shostakovich's complete symphonies, and Wagner Ring Cycle. All in all that equals 40 cds and not a single chopin piece.

With the Samson set, it's 10 right there, the Arrau = 7, Cziffra more than 4,  some Richter, some Perahia, some Zimerman, some Gilels, Weissenberg, Gavrilov, Ciani, Cortot 6 I think, Argerich, Pogorelich, Pollini, Anda, Horowitz,  bunch of Rubinstein, Hofmann, Bolet, Lipatti, Vasary, Backhaus, Berezovsky, probably more I don't remember right now.

 I "legally" own more than 50 "just Chopin" cds, for sure.

Believe me, that is nothing .

i voted 1-5 and would have made 6 if i counted records.  so much for my chopin listening library! although you can 'get by' with listening at school if your school has a music library.  cd's are kind of expensive these days - but my latest binge last year was of piano concertos of most major composers.  jean-ives thibeaut plays chopin on the original broadwood.

I reckon I've got around 15 all chopin cds. Usually I just go for the pianist rather than the composer.

I did that once, I lost 2 cds of shostakovich's P&F from the library. I was forced to buy it. about two months later I found the CD. i could give it back and get my money back, but since it was such a great CD I just kept it.

No thanks on the DL thing.
