Has anyone here heard from Bernhard? He just stopped giving his useful posts.  :(

What are your opinions on religion?

And also remember to vote for channel or flavor

Best Wishes,

Lau

he probably went on some sort of december vacation to some remote part of the earth with his lovely wife and daughters.

i'd say the bible is better at prediction than nostradamus.  although, the other night someone was getting really mad at nostradaumus people because they were certain that 9/11 was predicted and they wondered why they weren't warned on 9/10.

i've never understood 'channel the flavor.'  and now, separated as it is - am more confused.   maybe that explains my limited ability to 'emote' at the piano as i should.  seems that when a person is most relaxed they can play the best.  ok.  trip to barnes and noble to drink some cappuccino (try some different flavors) and read books.  then, play the piano.  you can't just treat the piano as if it were an instrument to be turned on and off at will.  it must be coaxed.  do i understand 'channel the flavor' now?

What does Channel the flavor mean?  ???   Its either Channel or flavor. I suppose you want a definition of channel and flavor:

Channel: Using armweight for F FF FFF

Flavor: Using arm power to make the peice more flavorable

being somewhat aescetic - i have chosen channel.  it sounds harder.  denying oneself flavors is the way to make them come out more flavorful when you do use them.  but, honestly i have never heard a piano teacher use these terms.

i prefer to watch the cappuccino machines and think of the 'turn on' and 'off' points right at the keys.

good questions.

1.no idea and wonder about that too. hope he's enjoying that probable vacation.

2.they're all wrong except for mine,
just kidding. religion is ok, they serve a purpose, although sometimes a bit twisted, and they've mostly all seen pretty dark periods, but are mostly becoming more accepting of each other and seeing a need for coexistence..

When Practice Stagnates – Breaking the Performance Ceiling: Robotic Training for Pianists

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
