So who's going to be auditioning for universities/conservatories starting this month? What's you're repertoire going to be? Where are you auditioning to?

Mine (in chronological order)

Bach - WTCII P&F #9 in E Major
Beethoven - Sonata Op. 90 in e minor
Chopin - Military Polonaise
Ravel - Jeux d'eau
Wild-Gershwin - Etude #6 "I Got Rhythm"

Bach Italian Concerto (hopefully all 3 mvts., but certainly 1 and 2)
Chopin Nocturne Op.55 No.1 and Op.72 No.1
Scriabin Etude Op.2 No.1
Rachmaninoff Prelude in G# minor Op.32 No.12
Mozart Sonata k.457 in C minor

Better simple and perfect than complex but not ready.

me + you, at Colburn. Thursday. You better wait for me after the audition, and bring a laptop because we're going to copy their CD library to mp3.

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
