don't worry.  maybe it's a chance to express that unrequited love - and sometimes disturbed feelings when they tell you you didn't play well.  sort of a love/hate thing.  maybe this is good for us because we fear sticking out our tongues and waving our hands when they turn around - yet, who knows, they may be doing that to us when we walk out the door.  despite the imperfections he finds in my playing (which is good to know), i would still kiss my piano teachers feet after he plays a recital.  he always proves what's possible and it's nice to have someone show you and not just tell you.  the most beautiful music comes from his studio door when he's practicing.

Does he know you're here? I'll bet not. However I would avoid writing any "I HATE MY TEACHER!!!"  >:( posts. ;) Perhaps you can use this forum in lessons, I do with a couple of my students who come here. We discuss topics that we've read and the recordings. A lot of people seem to be horrified by the thought that their teachers or their students might be here. I don't get that, this is a valuble tool, I say use it.  8)

I tell my teacher about the forum all the time, even emailing links to interesting threads.  And I have been in flame wars in the past, but I dont even think twice about my teacher actually caring.

It's actually not that bad, as he's the first competent teacher I've ever had (I've had 3).Still, the initial shock...

I think as Arensky. I honestly cannot see that it matters one way or the other. Well, it obviously matters to you, but on the face of it I am unable to see why.

when do i get another lesson?  *looks around for hidden money - must make some more quickly.

i just got a pic from nyc of a gorgeous bosendorfer.  reminded me of my teacher, because you'd have to be really good to play on this piano and look like you belonged with it.  lots of gold leaf and carving.

sadly, i just sat down and played chopin preludes.  i'm trying to learn them all as one does etudes.  the etudes are stinky.  (*daring teacher to come on line)
