psycho? i think it depends upon how you define it. many women are called 'psycho' but it could just be at certain times of the month, or certain things that they are 'into' that sound strange. why not add liszt and chopin and pooh to the psycho list? schumann was 'psycho' too.
i think people that have experienced loss and pain are more succeptible to others labelling them 'psycho' or perhaps actually being psycho. also, people that are possessed by 'voices' telling them to do one thing or another.
hmmm. marie d'agoult was a good lover. that's what i remember about her. george sand - she was a good writer and eccentric. that's what i remember about her. BUT, liszt, wasn't he changing his views every ten years and kindof unique in his thoughts at times. he could be very polite one moment and very strange another - at least that's what i've read. maybe he was possessed when he played the piano? ok. i think of all of them - liszt is the one.

Marie was crazy. Literally crazy. I forget who said this "Marie is 6 inches of snow covering 20 feet of lava".

she wouldn't be considered psycho nowdays. smoking is certainly permitted. and, a lot of other things, so all in all - she was just 'ahead of her times' in the setting that we find ourselves in now.
i think chopin was off his rocker. he basically stopped existing for himself and decided to live for her and for his music. he was hopelessly melancholy and needed other people to inspire him into working (and take care of him when sick).
ok. take care of him when sick. i agree that i let my hubby do this - but not to the extreme of determining wall paper. george sand may have been extremely controlling -but he let her. that's his fault.

Marie. I think both of these women were very strange, but George (Aurore Dudevant) was able to consumate her literary talent, in fact she was considered to be one of the most brilliant writers of her time, althoughshe is now known primarily for her decade long relationship with Chopin. Marie never quite made it as a writer, and this only exacerbated an already shrewish petulant personality. Sand was more cunning and calculated in her actions vis a vis Chopin, which points to a more stable emotional temprment, although she was evil IMO.
