Joyce Yang - Beethoven Pno Cto #3 Cm
on: January 12, 2006, 04:28:32 AM
Has anyone heard this performance from the Van Cliburn competition?  I caught the last bit of the ending the other day on the radio and was impressed.  I'm looking for the recording but I don't see it on any of the CD's released by Cliburn.  Anybody know where I can get a copy?

What do the rest of you think of this performance?

THanks!

Im OBSESSED with joyce Yang! I actually got to see her perform on her tour, and it was awesome. Like the most incredible performance Ive ever seen. i dont really know about the concerto, but if you really want to hear her, get her regular cd and it has the most amazing carl vine sonata on it. I didnt breath when I saw her perform it. You should also get the dvd "in the heart of music". Its a documentary about the competition that is really well done and it has a couple really great interviews with Jyce Yang.
I heart....

swings
and days without Bach inventions

Thanks.  I'll check out the DVD.  Is it as good as the documentary from the previous Cliburn competition, the one with Olga Kern?

Back to my original question, does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Beethoven 3rd Piano Concerto with Joyce Yang?  I really can't wait to listen to it in its entirety.

Thanks.

Someone was kind enough to seed these broadcasts on dimeadozen which I downloaded a few months ago.   Here are the seeder's notes as I think this is the one you are referring to:

As opposed to the first incarnation of this torrent, I have left the music unsplit. This is an immaculate recording. Enjoy!
