My biggest problem is timing..are there any interactive computer programs you can get for exercises on counting?  I have a book that gives practice..however, how do I know if I did it correctly?

By "timing", do you mean you have difficulty perceiving a regular pulse or that you have a problem feeling rhythm in general ? These two situations, while appearing similar, are in fact very different. The former is a very trivial subset of the latter. Counting may or may not be appropriate, depending on circumstance.
