Team name:
Dreamspaced

Project name:
Paradox

Brief description:
This game is unique in its aims. It aims to appeal almost to two markets at once, it is a hybrid. Some elements will be designed to appeal to an audience who love character building games, adoption or relationship simulations. Other elements will appear to be directed to the more stereotypical gamer, fighting and action will be blended with realistic character and feeling.

The games core theme is one of adoption. Essentially you the player become Karin in one sense that you control her, you command the direction she takes in her life (although game progress will be fairly linear and non-divergent) as if you were adopting her as a child, you oversee the progress she makes.

This aim is supported by several game play factors; Karin’s age will progress with the game, you can literally see the character change in physical form and personality. With this age progression, Karin will have several opportunities throughout the game to pick up and develop skills that the player can choose to hone or neglect depending on how they want to play, some of these skills will be essential for completion of certain situations, and others will be more relaxed. Some of these skill learning sessions may be considered mini games, such as cooking, modifying clothes, reading or watching educational content, and painting*. Other’s may be completely situational and used only one time, more like a puzzle skill.

That sounds like a really good game. Sort of like The Sims. Do you know what platform(s)
it will be available for? What do you mean by "DP4 (depending on your skill"? Do the musician(s) need to compose their own music? Do you have to know how to play both piano and violin? And where are the headquarters or where ever this game is being developed? Sorry for so many questions, but could you answer them please?

Hi thank you for your enquiries, below I will answer each questions individually.

Is there a minimum age restriction?
No as long as you have the talent, and you are willing to devote part of your time each day we will be happy to work with you

Do you know what platform(s) it will be available for?
We are mainly aiming for PC, Mac and Linux. We are also considering porting to Xbox and PS series

what do you mean by "DP4 (depending on your skill"? Do the musician(s) need to compose their own music?
Yes you will be working as an individual artist with a lead musician, we in Art or Code department will leave you with all creativities and responsibilities. Along in/after discussions with your teammates in the music department and with the other two departments, like style, the feel and such

DP4 is a music composing software that runs on Mac, stands for Digital Performer. it is used widely among many studio's. You are also welcome to use Steinberg Cubase for PC, feel free to discuss the possibilities with your teammates

Do you have to know how to play both piano and violin?
No it is only for reference, it is a plus if you know how to play live instruments. But feel free to send us your samples we will reference thru each candidates carefully
