finding a gig

you can put your name in or find out what people are doing and how much they are paid.  some in philly get up to $6000. a night.  hmmm.  suppose it might be in tips if they play really well.

one guy charges $450. for entire gig (one performer) for weddings.  it apparently has gone up because i think the most i charged was $150.  suppose that you have to have a variety of music and play a lot 'on demand' songs.

you think so?  i don't quite get how to turn upside down.  i can swing around it - but dizziness sets in quickly.  i've always gotten dizzy easily.  i'd like to see a man try half the things women do to please a man.  i'd just sit back, eat popcorn, and say 'faster, slower - more to the left or the right, upside down'

reminds me of this seminar we had at school.  we were supposed to mirror each other whilst listening to live piano music.  it was a sort of 'take you turn' dance thing - and one to two people would be moving to the music (according to where it led them) and then touch someone else on the shoulder and they would start dancing where you left off.  the one thing i found out is that pianists are TERRIBLE dancers.  some were really good at hand mirroring though.  the rest just really stiff.  if you ever find a pianist that is a good dancer, let me know, ok.

you mean the lawrence welk show?  i never saw liberace dance.

but, you know what.  i think we're on to something.  i think people would play much better if they got in touch with how to express emotion through dance AND piano.  you could sort of connect the two after a while.  i mean - not dancing while you are playing - but relaxing and feeling the music better.

i watch pole dancing out of bizarre curiousity if i could ever pull it off for my hubby without him laughing his head off.  he has offerred to install a pole in the bedroom. i have been successful at ballroom dancing (and country line dancing).
