is it possible to chew too much gum?
on: January 25, 2006, 03:41:51 AM
with this broken leg, i have had to endure the family shopping for me - returning with odd items such as huge packs of eclipse and big red gum.  everyone overdosed on gum that day - and the big red was terrible.  it makes your tongue so hot - it's like burning it.

i'm driving tommorrow.  i don't care if i crash into a tree, i've got to get out of here.  although, i must drive the van because it goes by itself and brakes are light touch.  the other car takes too much pressure to brake.

just asking if there's any permanent harm done to the tongue by chewing too much big red gum?  (or eclipse - for that matter).

Most women would suffer no ill effects from gum chewing, coz their jaws are usually in perpetual moion anyway.

;D Cheeky. But true.

And, pianistimo, if all your posts are anything to go by, chances are you'll be fine!

I've heard in the past, anecdotally that it can cause stomach problems [supposedly because the body is expecting food when you chew] I don't know if it's true.

It's probably not good for your teeth if it has sugar, but sugar-free gum is supposedly good for your teeth.

thalbergmad, you're never going to get a lucky ticket that way.  if there's one thing you have to learn before you get married - it's to tell women that they're beautiful, and that they're right, and that you never really cared about the ironing anyway.

GET MARRIED, never.

My last girlfriend was so ugly, she had to get her vibrator drunk.

She stood on a speak your weight machine and it said "one at a time please"

I have had it with women.

thalbergmad, you have a similar problem to my son (who wears this cologne that repels women).  he thinks of them like vending machines (not really ) but anyway, this afternoon he put in his quarter and pushed A3 soft cookie. nothing.  so he put in a little more money and pushed it again.  nothing.  so then, he punched the machine and nothing.  typed in a whole bunch of letters and numbers.  finally, a 'honey bun' dropped.  it was filled with a whipped cream filling of some kind and it tasted really good.  but, guess where he is right now?  it was just too sweet.  made him terribly sick.

the cologne part is true!  terrex or something.
about the girls, actually, i don't think he's had a girlfriend - just girls that like him.  he once told one to meet him somewhere and then never showed up himself.  i told him "you can't treat women like that."  don't know if she ever got revenge.  so far - at least - i don't worry about the usual stuff :)

Pianistimo- I get what you mean now.

Women are like vending machines.

If you want something you have to give them money and if you don't get it, you have to hit them.

Could not have put it better myself.

Thanks

now don't get any ideas.  vending machines do occasionally break down - so, if you are patient you just might get lucky once in a while if you know how to push the right buttons.  (notice that nothing came out when he punched the machine).
