Private piano teaching with webcam
on: January 25, 2006, 05:37:53 PM
Hello.

I am planning to move to a different state. I have about 15 students. I will be recommanding them other teachers, but I know that some will be very disappointed, as they have had bad experiences with other teachers and really like me.

I was thinking that I could keep them as my students using video conferencing, DSL internet and a webcam. I see that some teachers do that and teach students all over the world this way.

Has any of you had experience teaching or being taught that way? Pros and cons? Thanks.

happened to spot a teacher on the web that does mainly that.  have to look his name up again.  anyway, nice that your students want to keep you!  hope it works out.

Sounds interesting.  I want to know more too.

I would be concerned about not having the image exactly match the sound.  Or having bad sound.  Or the basic reliability of the computer.
