The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Legato 6ths

I am learning a piece on organ (yes I know..not piano) that has a lot of 6ths and I am having problems getting them legato! Any tips, exercises I can do to help with this..or fingering? If the organ had a damper pedal I could do it, but no such luck

I'm no expert, but one thing I remember being shown by a good organist was how you have to do a lot of finger switching on the keys. An exercise was to play an ascending scale in 6ths; on each step of the scale you switch from fingers 2 and 5 to 1 and 4. Similarly, for 3rds you switch from 4 and 2 to 3 and 1.
