why did you put on your roommates glasses?  do you need a pair of your own?

*several years ago i decided i needed reading glasses, too,but they also made me sick.  so i just hold the book a little closer and use a bookmark to hold the lines.  so far so good. we'll see what happens in the next ten years.  wonder if glasses make your eyes weaker faster?  good lighting helps.

say, are you going to do that background check for me, or what?

i had a friend who liked to borrow my glasses for school photos (she had perfect vision) and so i'd be standing like on 2nd top row being like agh i can't see i'm gonna fall over! and she'd be near me like agh i can't see i'm gonna fall over! she did that several times, and i believe her eyes are still ok so i'm sure you'll eventually be fine just don't do it again. this friend of mine (well ex best friend) also used to buy ritolin off my 2 ADD friends in yr8 just to see what she'd be like...not nice she got really bitchy

Wearing other peoples glasses does cause some discomfort.

My mothers glasses has got lenses like the Hubble Telescope. I don't know how she can wear them.

Glasses are just lenses that distort light, they cannot damage your eysight. The way to cure being sick when you put on glasses is just to wear them more. Your eyes and what you see help you to balance and putting on glasses might make you dissy because the light has been distorted.

really what was i doing?!

do you even need to ask that question?  ::)

When I first started using glasses it was in yr 12 to help me read the whiteboard. Then when I went to uni I just wore them for lectures, but then I started noticing that I was becoming increasingly dependant on them, e.g I couldn't see from the back of the lecture theatre without them. Slowly I started needing to wear them more and more and now I have to wear them all the time (though I also wear contacts). This experience has led me to believe that the more you wear glasses, the more you need to wear them. So avoid using them if you can help it.

I asked my optometrist about some my (similar) experience. I was told that my eyesight seemed to be worse (in that when I took my glasses off I couldn't see as well as before I started wearing them), as long as my prescription didn't need changing my eyesight wasn't really changing. ...or something like that....just laziness of the muscles, I guess, as opposed to the actual shape of the cornea changing.
