I had never heard her before, but went to one of her concerts recentely. It was amazing. Does anyone know anything about her? Apparently she is really famous in Japan.

I think she is one of the ABRSM Examination Pieces Disk performers.

She is actually pretty good, but I don't like her excessively light touch, I don't find her touch as strong as it should be.

(living on too much yamaha i'd bet)

She did a great job with Tcherepnin's 5th piano concerto.

Actually her touch can be quite heavy. I really liked the way she played Rachmaninov, nothing light about her touch there. She is really light when it comes to Mozart, but that's the way Mozart is usually played, light and clear.

her Debussy and Takemitsu is particularly good.

not heard any more of her recordings. i dont agree with the excessively light touch though.. you should hear her L'isle joyeuse or some of the livelier debussy preludes.

She is fantastic especially in the french rep - quite unusual for Japanse pianists who are often taught by russians (but she did study extensively in Paris) She was a Leeds finalist years ago and is now a very distinguished performer and jury member on major competitions - she also give masterclasses quite regularly and of course records quite extensively.  I believe she is based in Europe now.  She most likely has her own website - but I havent looked. Glad yu enjoyed her concert

Thanks for the URL to her website!

Interesting to see that she's the duet partner of Kathryn Stott, whom I also like a lot (especially her Faure).
