I also have an old Milton I'm trying to find info on. It's a full upright, cherry cabinet, S/N 51493. If you find a resource, please post ! Thanks.

According to the Presto Buyers' Guide of 1926, the Milton Piano Company was founded in 1892. Its President (presumably in late 1925) was George W. Allen, and its factories were at 626-630 West 51st Street, New York City. At that time it manufactured pianos and player pianos, both uprights and grands, and installed the Welte-Mignon (Licensee) action in some of its reproducing pianos. The rest of the trade directory entry simply tells you how wonderful everything was!
I could believe they were connected with the Autopiano Company, whose factory was at 627-629 West 50th Street. That sounds like back to back to me. There were a number of piano companies on the Autopiano site, facing the Hudson river for ease of transportation.
If I find more, I'll reply again.
