what brought this on zheer. did you get excited? i thought it sort of was a kind of platonic thing to see a mother and baby (besides, usually the baby covers up any possible nipple showing).
my last one nursed til she was four. the others until three. after a year, i usually didn't give them any during the day - just at bedtime - and they'd fall right to sleep. when they were under a year, i usually went into a private room or the bathroom - but occasionally - like on an airplane - would just bring a blanket. no one knew that i knew of - unless the baby started slurping.
i suppose to be aware of ones surroundings is better that just flashing your shirt up. as jacey said - they have these outfits that have several layers, and you just do it really quick so noone sees. usually the baby is hungry - so there's no delay.
if you become a parent - you'll see the huge difference in time between bottle and breast. it's already warmed up, just the right amount, and gives that soft comfy feel to ababy to make them go to sleep. you give them a bottle, and they cry the whole time you are heating it up (then it's too hot and you have to cool it down). by the time you feed the baby they are in a frenzy and won't take it. babies can be really impatient.
agreed about it boosting the immune system and making them happy quick. also, they don't seem to get so many ear infections, runny noses, and keep weight stable.
