Where to go from here
on: February 12, 2006, 03:45:45 AM
By the way, I am new to this forum, so I might as well introduce myself (as well as saying "hi" to y'all). I am a 17 yr. old who has played piano for about 3 years now, but only seriously for the past 6 months.
Right now, the pieces I am working on/can play proficently are Chopin's Waltz (op. post.) in f minor (op. 70), his Cantibile in B flat major, Ravel's "Prelude," Debussy's "The Sunken Cathedral," Various excerpts from Schumann's Carnival Suite ("Grand Valse and the Estebus, and yes, I know those aren't spelled right), Scriabin's "Nuances" and "Desire" (op. 56 no. 3 and 57 no. 1 respectively).
My question is, "What other pieces that would be on the level of those pieces that I can add to my repetoire, with emphasis on classical and baroque, since I am lacking in those areas severely (all I have there is this one Bach symphonetta in g minor I just picked out to learn)?"
My other question is "Exactly what 'level' would I be playing at?"
Thanks in advance!
Oh, just I head off any questions about my name, its the name of a new Japanese video game composer who has written some very nice works for piano (very sophisicated, real music they are).
