Best Schumann-Liszt, Schubert-Liszt Transcription Editions?
on: February 12, 2006, 06:59:45 PM
Hi all,
I was wondering what the best editions for Widmung (Schumann-Liszt) and Auf dem Wasser zu singen (Schubert-Liszt) are? I'm having trouble locating what versions are available. I want to play them together following The Tempest sonata, Widmung then Auf dem Wasser zu singen.
Thanks,
Steve

The most scrupulously edited will be those of the New Liszt Edition, published by
Bärenreiter/EMB; however I'm not sure which volume number they are in.
The Peters edition shoudl be fine in practice though, I expect.
