I guess it's not really sad, but Davidsbundlertanze makes me cry. No idea why. (Pollini plays it really well, btw. I'm dying to get hold of a recording of Cortot playing it- anyone know if one is available?)
"Chopin" from Carnival is an unbelievable piece, full of longing- and prehaps sadness.
To me, Schumann can be interpreted in many different ways, so what is to one person sad might not be so to someone else.
How awesome are Schumann's works, though.

btw- it's "saddest".
