question about grade/ condition of admission
on: February 16, 2006, 07:58:00 PM
Hello everyone,
A friend of mine asked me how long it would take to get to "grade 7". He never played piano but he took e-guitar lessons.. . He needs this grade on a classical instrument to get into a School (something with producing/music gear/ sound technics etc).

For me, althoug i play piano for several years, it is really hard to say how long he has to practice to get this grade. I think if he would practice really hard he could get it in half a year but as I myself never teached piano maybe someone here could give some better advice..

there are too many factors to give a proper answer. it all depends on how fast he can larn, how much he practices. how good of guidance he has  and other things.

thank you for your really fast answer..  I think he is no musical genius but certainly an intelligent person.  at the moment he's on "holidays" for half a year, so there would be lot of time to practice. Of course he would take lessons and i also could practice a bit with him..

grade 7 can be achieved in a year or so, if the conditions are right.
