Wow, I aint had that happen for a while!
on: February 21, 2006, 03:06:23 AM

Just listening to some music, and the Chopin Ballade 4 came on random. Just gave me such a chill, I almost shed a tear! Wow, I love this piece so much, just for the beginning alone.

Oh, and I am straight I promise you!

Ole Ruby was the man behind the keys. I also like Bett's recording though.

Infact, I think Betts does the start really well. I didnt like his Ballade 1 very much but he makes up for it with 4. When the bass enters it really kicks me in the chest!

Pollini does Ballade 1 very well, but his No4 is to hasty imo. Shame cuz i like his style usually.

He certainly has the technical side of things well under control. Like Kissin, his Ballade 1 is fantastic.

Strange this,

I was having a dream today as I sleept and that particular Ballade was playing in my dream it seemed sooooooo real I could hear it so well, that even in my dream it moved me, chills and even sobbing a bit :o  :o :o :o

I have never had a dream where I hear music so vividly, thats what taking up the piano has done to me or is it madness... :-[

I agree! it would be nicer a little slower IMO. That Zimmerman guy plays it well in some you tube video I saw I think, but HEY I'm no expert on the best versions of that piece!

Pollini's version of Chopin's C# minor prelude is great, its such a spaced out piece! :-*

Thats interesting, I was listening to all of Chopin's ballades the other night, and I got some pretty bad sleep afterwards! too stimulating for my mind! :-\
