Squeaky keys
on: March 07, 2006, 05:39:20 AM
Hello everybody. My new grand piano has been sitting in my home for the last 3 weeks acclimatizing. My hygrometer has been reading at 38 to 40%. I have only noticed in the last day that most of my keys have this squeaky noise when I slowly depress they keys. It isn't noticeable when they are pressed rapidly and my piano is due for a tuning on the 18th of this month.
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.
By the way, I have a 6'1 Gebr Perzina.

The slot in the repetiton levers that the rep spring rides in needs to be lubed.

To continue with Curry's post, this should be mentioned to the tuner when he's there and he/she can take care of this at the time of the tuning.
