ok.  i'm in the saving money mode now.  after about 2 hours on the computer, my husband found this site to buy kitchen counter appliances for 1/2 price.  usually from cuisinart, you have to pay list price $499. for a 14 cup cuisinart.  my old one was indispensible - but after  21 years (husband owned it before i married him) the blade and cup (plastic) broke.  anyway - the cuisinart price was too high so we found:
e-cost.com  which has the same thing for $289. (a big savings)  they are great for making bread if you mix only until it is 'batter' consistency and then pour into a regular mixing bowl and add the last 2-4 cups of flour.  also, i can't do without this for making salad (saves all the cutting time).  you have about 12 blades to cut things in different ways and they are all regular cuts and not the half chopped style of an un-chef.

my son thinks i talk on this forum about stuff that is too off-the-wall - but i thought if anyone else wants info on buying stuff for half price - they'd be glad not to have to search so long.

I was dreading one of those run of the mill, "I only exist for a week before I get shutdown" sites. The name certainly isn't reassuring, it sounds so... unoriginal and rushed. The site sways me otherwise though, it looks reasonable, similar to the extent you would find at Amazon at first glance.

Nice I guess ^_^ I'm too young to need to buy Kitched appliances, unless I can find a great Mothers Day present on there :o New Refrigerator perhaps?!

Anyways, I would never dare purchasing something off sites like Kelkoo or something, although I think that is just a search engine... they just seem dangerously tacky and insecure. If you can't navigate the site easily, FORGET it! Or if it look's Stereotypical...
