These are two amazing pieces, but which one would you rather play?

Geez what a choice to make!

They're both soooooooooo cool. I'll go with Aufschwung though.
[lau] 10:01 pm: like in 10/4 i think those little slurs everywhere are pointless for the music, but I understand if it was for improving technique

Aufschwung and In der Nacht are both from the Phantasiestucke op.12

I don't know about those two songs, but I really like Des Abends from Phantasiestucke Op.12

I'm finding it hard to memorise, even though it's pretty much the same figure all the way through :S I guess I memorise mainly on patterns, and as it's all the same I'm finding it hard to distinguish ::)

For me, once I knew had memorised the melody well enough, the accompanying figure just fell in place - my fingers just knew what to do.  There are only really four sections to learn: the main theme, the two key signature changes and the coda.  have fun memorising!  ;)

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31. Piano Street’s members are invited to watch the livestream. Read more
