I haven't learned any new pieces for ages. I'm working solely on improvisation and recording it. I've never been entirely certain if it's strictly possible to "work" on improvisation in the usual sense of the word. "Working" or not, I seem to be doing an awful lot of playing and recording lately.

Well here's my list

Chopin:Prelude 4(memorizing)
            Prelude 6(combining both hands)
            Prelude 7(Memorizing)
            Prelude15(on last page)
            Mazurka no.1 op.24(still on 1st page)
REvolutionary Etude, haha yeah right ::) Anyways,

Debussy: Prelude1 from Suite Bergamasque(seperate hands still)

Liszt: Consolation no.3(2v3 thing confusing sometimes, but seperate hands)

Grieg: Rigaudon Op.40 no.5(just started the other day)

And random piece To Zanarkand(Full version) Got thru page 2

I think i should wait on some of these, cuz if i dont, i wont be able to finish any of them.

Why not the complete Holberg suite? It's beautiful. Isolated Rigaudon is so nude...

Well i never heard the whole suite before.I was browsing some scorch's onmusic-scores.com and looked thru Grieg and listened to some of the ones they had on there, and i saw Rigaudon and thought i have a listen and i liked it :D. But the whole suite you say, hmmmm, that would take me the whole summe probably :-\.I would have to check with my teacher on that. But this a challenge I cannot deny then ;D

Four Poems, by Godowsky

1. Devotion
2. Avowal
3. Adoration
4. Yearning

I'm also perfecting Liszt's Mephisto Waltz, and have been studying the Rach 3 for quite some time now, but I'm putting it to rest for a while.

I bought Schumann's Fantasiestücke a few days ago, it's great fun to play, especially Ende vom Lied. I'm currently working my ways through it from back to front. :)

Amelia, just as a friendly question (this isn't meant to be critical), but how can you possibly find the time to practice so many pieces at once? That would kill me.

Anyway...

Currently Learning

Beethoven: Sonata Op. 49 No. 2
Bach: Invention No. 1
Chopin: Preludes Op. 28 Nos. 6, 7
Mozart: Sonata K.545

And after the Chopin and Bach are learned, I'll be adding...

Beethoven: Sonata Op. 49 No. 1
Bach: Invention No. 2

I currently practise 5 hrs a day, so I divide my time carefully and spend more time on those parts/pieces that need more work.

Besides that, i'm not in school this year, so I can spend lots of time on the piano everyday and just leave some time for theory

many people call me crazy, but that's the way it works for me.

Well, I just had the first run-through of my recital program and will not have to perform it for another month at least, so I am learning some new pieces now, all of which I am madly in love with:

Chopin - Etude, op. 10 no. 9
Bach - WTC Bk 1, Fugue in d# minor
Beethoven - Sonata in A Major, Op. 101
Franck - Prelude, Chorale, and Fugue

Anyone else share my enthusiasm for these pieces?

I only did the chopin etude and beethoven sonata. The etude is nice, not that hard and a great rubatofeeling even if there arent many tempochanges. The left hand on the second page is tricky (you know wich part :p ), took me some time to get that legato enough. Beethoven.. nice sonata, all about details :)

Mozart - Kegelstatt Trio

Fantastic!  I have been playing this too this semester - has your clarinetist left Mozart's wrong notes, or "corrected" them to match the violin part?

Hmm, I'm not sure.  I just started it recently and have only had 1 coaching.  I'll be sure to ask this of my clarinetist though.  Thanks.
