Music for Cello and Piano
on: November 16, 2003, 09:37:17 PM
Can you give me suggestions on pieces for Cello and Piano that are very difficult (both parts) and show off a lot?
Thanks

Debussy's 'Cello Sonata (a favourite piece of mine) or Chopin's Polonaise Brilliante,

Also, both the Brahms cello/piano sonatas.

Shostakovich's Cello Sonata (Op. 40). I like the Yo-Yo Ma/Emmanual Axe recording.

Schubert's Arpegionne sonata is so beautiful. I don't know if it's difficult though.
