Nils, could you please put colour back? Or at least explain why you took it away?

The text color option has been disabled becase we do not see the need for it and it sometimes makes text more difficult to read.
Hope you can live without it!  ;)

What if I (or anyone) set up a poll to see if they want coloured text back? If there are many people who vote yes, will you try to get it back? (I'm not sure if you get to decide the changes or not) I don't really see how it makes it harder to read the text, unless you write it in black or purple or brown or some other really dark colour.

Uncolored text has worked well for some thousands of years and is still the prefered choice for most published text. For what reason do you need colored text in this forum?
Do you have colored sheet music and piano keys as well?  ;)

Everything in this world has color. Not all black is all black. All white is not all white ;)

I don't need it, I want it. There is a difference. You need to go clean the house if the King/Queen/President/Prime Minister/Emperor of some important country is coming over, but you don't want to.(Almost?) everyone wants to live in some elegant mansion, but no one needs to.
I just think it would be good to have it when occassionally it makes something slightly more interesting.

OK, I get your point.  ;D
However, if you really needed it we could consider putting it back, but since you just want it, it doesn't seem necessary... ;)

I agree, but from experience I can tell that instead of people using it in an appropriate manner the colored text was most often misused.

Okay, I guess it's not that important, but what do you mean by 'misuse'? Do you mean they write dirty messages in black so that you can only read it if you really want to?

Users making all text in all their messages a certain color was the most common problem.

As much as I like "fighting the man" colored text is, quite simply, annoying and without purpose.  The only conceivable reason you'd ever want colored text is to write something in red when you're angry, and you can always just use Caps Lock for that =P

Okay, well, I have realized one reason I feel like I *need* coloured text.  For things like this :

https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,18305.msg196613.html#msg196613

When I am compiling major amounts of info and categorizing them, in order for things to be clear, using things like the bold, font size, italics and underlining features only go so far.  I will admit, coloured text would be useful.

The bold, italic, and larger fonts seems to work fine...  8)

I dont think colored text makes a difference; I'm sure that size 20 bold white font will pop out more than size 12 blue font.
