    Its Richter, what he is saying in Russian is that he no longer has perfect pitch and therefore does not play in public anymore. That video clip is him when younger.

Yup. Richter. The voice gave it away from even before the playing. It's a performance that's also in the Monsaigeon film "The Engima."

Lol... According to previous posts it is Richter speaking before the video plays...so you're saying he should be fired?  :P

this thread is hilarious, everyone should know its richter, both speaking and playing

and people dont lose perfect pitch, but the ears change as people get older and pitches lower very slightly, and richter in his 80s , would probably hear A as Ab, and thats wehat he meant

ok. its just i heard this from a 50 year old Baritone aswell. if i last till im 80, i guess i will be happy.
