I think I see what you're getting at: artists are poor. Seems true enough to me, art simply doesn't pay well. So they can't pay rent and are now living a bohemian lifestyle .
No, they're getting regular day jobs and turning back into musicians at night.John
do you mean like the sidewalk artist that draws out in front of the art museum in philly (or is it new york). he can do amazing likenesses and has been compared to leonardo da vinci in his shadings and amazing work. does he get satisfaction out of this? yes! a thousand times yes. does he get paid enough. no. a thousand times no. he is one of many professional artists that just don't care about fitting into the 'normal life' and leads the backpack (chalk included) life around the city - taking in the aura and the people and learning art from the wind (and actually becoming better without taking classes). should we put all our belongings into a backpack and head for adventure. i say yes. when you reach that point in life where you have nothing to lose. why not. who wants to die in their own back yard.
So yes, we agree.Art and making money are two seperate things.edit: oh, I see the misunderstanding now. My first post was directed at the original poster, not at your post which came right before.
