Trill in La Campanella
on: April 08, 2006, 09:16:47 PM
Hi, I'm currently working on La Campanella, and I am having difficulty staying loose and relaxed during the right hand trill with 3/5 and the thumb right after the scales. I usually tense up, and so, the trill sounds labored and forced. No matter what I try, I always tense up. Any suggestions?

Try a shaking motion in the wrist while excecuting the trill.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

The previous advice sounds good. Yes, I think the trick here is wrist rotating motion and working out the trill between the 3/5 fingers. I had trouble with that part some time ago, but I have improved much since I started practicing this piece.

Yeah, I'll try that. It sounds like the hard part is that is to still maintain the consistency of the actual trill part while rotating.
