"Lyrics" in piano music
on: November 21, 2003, 09:03:05 PM
Seeing Thracozaag say the following reminded me of another example:

Quote
she plays the hell out of the C-minor.  Fleisher had very clever lyrics for the fugue of that: "I am the reluctant dra-gon."

In Chopin's Revolutionary Etude (op.10/12), the theme in the right hand, "Have you heard? The King is dy - ing".

Has anyone else got any helpful lyrics for piano music?

Yeah, In Schoenberg's piano concerto, first movement, I'd suggest "Co---me on ba-by light my fire"

Imagine the melodic line had lyrics to it. Which lyrics would help you phrase the line better?

When Practice Stagnates – Breaking the Performance Ceiling: Robotic Training for Pianists

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive.
