Chopin - Etude #4 Op. 10
on: April 12, 2006, 12:21:19 AM
I play this Chopin Etude on an electro piano. As I intend to record a CD in 6-12 months or so (and I know there's still plenty of work to do) I would welcome any constructive comments on how I can improve my playing.

many thanks in advance
Nicolas

Nice start Dick!
I find your performance not there yet, but definitely  on the right path! You released some serious furyyyyyyyyy in tha coda

The key to your success with this piece will be patience.

i have never really played this etude so someone else can give you some more practical advice.

Post it again in a couple months

Nicholas,

I agree, you've made a good start but it needs some pace now. Listen to Richter play this and watch the vid, its insane! Thats what this etude require imo, it needs to be on the edge of madness.

How long have you been playing btw?

I've been playing since I'm 6 and I'm 27 now. For I didn't really play for the last 4 years.

I can play it much faster but then I'll inevitably skip some notes. But it's good to hear that I need to speed it up a bit. Thanks for the comments.

May Richter inspire you if he didn't already.
