There are serious issues being explored here. It's titled "a monument to pro-life" (let's not mince words here, anti-abortion).
Is the artist paying homage to Brit for sacrificing her career for the noble pursuit of motherhood? Or is he being ironic? Is he suggesting the prospect of a spears/K-fed line should make the pro-life lobby think again??
And the artist is playing games with the celebrity trend that started when a pregnant Demi Moore stripped off for a cover shot .
Ever since Duchamp exhibited a urinal the purpose of much art has been to shock and provoke.
I like this piece of art. I think it's smart and and subversive. And it's got all the Britney Spears fans up in arms, which can't be a bad thing.
